INDIVIDUAL SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Walking with you
at life’s sacred edges

Fellow Sojourner,

Do you long to reconcile your faith tradition with your evolving spiritual questions?

Close-up of a young, curled fern frond unfurling among green foliage.

There is a fern outside my living room window. Each winter it dies back to a brown stump, and then in the spring little alien tendrils begin to unfurl. The curled-up balls of green exhibit little resemblance to the glory of the summer fern, but it’s all in there, waiting for sun and rain to unleash its becoming.

You don’t need to be fixed, transformed, or remade.  You are unfurling, the image of the Divine placed in you from the beginning. There are seasons of the brown stump of winter, the alien shoots of spring, the reaching leaves of summer, and sometimes you need someone to bear witness to your unfurling.

Direction is a sacred practice for holding your stories and listening for your inimitable spirit, watching for your life’s unique patterns, witnessing the sacredness of you. Together we create space for your soul to unfurl, knowing each unfolding tendril you send out into the world matters.

Spiritual Direction offers space to…

Listen deeply to your longings, doubts, and inner wisdom without rushing to fix or explain.

Make space for the sacred in the ordinary, the messy, and the in-between moments of your life.

Follow the wisdom of the edges welcoming the wisdom and meaning found in transition.

One-on-One Spiritual Direction

Come as you are. These sessions offer a quiet, supportive space to explore your inner life and listen for the sacred in your everyday experience. Whether you're in a season of questioning, seeking clarity, or longing for deeper connection, spiritual direction offers gentle, nonjudgmental companionship.

Sessions are available online or in person.

  • Most often spiritual direction finds a rhythm of a once-a-month practice. In this hour you are heard, your story is held, and your personhood is seen.

  • Spiritual Direction is a personal spiritual practice. There is no “one way” to engage. If after our 30 minute meeting you want to try direction for a while,  I would suggest a 3-month commitment. After 3 months we can revisit our fit and see if our time together matches your needs in this moment. If it doesn’t, I can recommend other directors, or you can follow your intuition into other places.

    • $100 for a one-hour monthly session

    • $100 a month for group sessions which meet weekly

If spiritual direction feels like something you would like to try, I’d suggest committing to three months.  If you find that the price is too steep for your budget after three months, but it has been worthwhile, we certainly can revisit the price at that time and look at a sliding scale.

The Path We’ll Walk Together

1

DISCOVERY CONVERSATION

Begin with a complimentary 30-minute consultation where we explore your spiritual journey and questions. There's no obligation, just an opportunity to connect and clarify what you're seeking.

2

SACRED COMPANIONING

If we decide to continue, we'll establish a rhythm of monthly 60-minute sessions. I'll listen deeply as you share your experiences, offering reflections and questions that help illuminate the divine in your everyday life.

3

DEEPENING THE JOURNEY

As our work unfolds, you may notice subtle or significant shifts. We'll periodically reflect on our direction together, adjusting our approach to honor the natural evolution of your spiritual path.

About Tamarah
A woman sitting on a wooden porch, smiling, with shelves of books, a cup, and a pen beside her.

I love seeing how stories unfurl.

I love seeing how stories unfurl.  I love connections. I love how nature amazes me, teaching me about who I am by pointing to abundance, diversity, and the settled assurance of being enough simply by filling my space.  I live in the Yellow House, with my husband of 30 years and a revolving door of four adult children, their friends, and our cats who fulfill their role as furniture accessories with aplomb.

  • In my time doing spiritual direction with Tamarah, I have felt seen, heard, guided, and loved. She helps me attune to my body and emotions. She listens well, reflects back what she hears, helps me dig deeper and ask better questions. She tells the truth and helps me find the truth as well. She lets me talk when I need to talk, and then she holds silence with me, praying me into God’s presence. I have experienced deeply profound moments with Jesus that I would not have experienced without her gentle leading and faithful presence. She has given me a safe place to grow in my intimacy with Christ, which allows me to pastor from joy and wholeness. She is a gift!

    REV. RACHEL GOUGH

  • I have known Tamarah for several years. In that time she has given me not only many valuable pieces of advice but also tools with which I can continue using as new situations arise. I’m most appreciative of her skill in prompting me to look at situations and events from other points of view and see how different conclusions could be drawn than I otherwise would have. I also appreciate how her vast literary knowledge enables her to draw parallels to things that I’m familiar with, which helps to quantify things in new ways. Tamarah also has a remarkable skill for balancing earnestness with humor that I find helps keep talking about even serious topics enjoyable.

    CHRISTOFER CURD | 23 years old, he/him

  • Tamarah has been a wonderful person to discuss faith with. She has gone through a long journey of deep introspection about her beliefs to reach the point she is at now, yet she remains incredibly open to discussing different perspectives. I come from a completely different background, but I’ve never felt any pressure to conform to her ideas. Even when our beliefs don’t align, she is still able to guide me toward resolutions that help me understand my faith more deeply. Tamarah is the first person I think of when I have a question about faith, and she is an absolute pleasure to talk to.

    ANDREW | 22 years old

  • Tamarah is an extraordinarily gifted spiritual director through her gentle presence and deep attentiveness. She guides group spiritual direction with a blend of spacious silence and discerning questions, inviting each voice to be fully heard. Tamarah’s practice of mirroring our own words back to us has become a cornerstone of my spiritual life, and I am so grateful to journey with her. If you seek a director who listens you into clarity, Tamarah is a gift.

REV. YVONNE AGDUYENG | she/her, Pastor

  • Tamarah fosters a space for my thoughts to be shared, articulated, and sifted through. Her questions push me to think deeper and strive for true honesty, encouraging mental positivity and emotional stability.
